Founded in 1892, Hamilton has built a strong reputation since its early days, linking the American spirit with Swiss precision. In the era of rapid development of railways, the company supplied workers and machinists with accurate watches and with the heyday of aviation it contributed to the military industry, helping pilots to synchronize time. Since the mid-20th century Hamilton has set a course on innovations changing the watch industry forever. Its 1957 Ventura was the first ever battery-powered electric watch, and the 1970 Pulsar pioneered digital LED technology. To this day, the company retains the title of "Hollywood brand": Hamilton watches were worn by Marlene Dietrich in the Shanghai Express, Elvis Presley in Blue Hawaii and numerous James Bond actors.
